it was late. rushing back on my bike so as to avoid admonition, it started to drizzle. quick, i told myself as raindrops the size of marbles started pouring down, hitting onto surfaces of my body exposed to the outside world. man that kinda hurt! the rain has always been a sort of pleasure for me, it washes away, that guilt in me, as well as the troubles that you never seem to be able to shake off in a typical, boring day. and suddenly, i seemed to enjoy each drop of rain. precipitation, i thought, as we learnt in science, what a wonder. its hard to say but its no easy feat to prevent a lingering mind while driving in the rain when i realised i was still on the expressway and as usual i did a time-check. 2:34am. i regretted, for staying out late and each time making my parents worry. i regretted for who i am, the delinquent, the black sheep of the family, whose misdemeanours are far too many to be counted. i wanted forgiveness. mom must be worried sick already! the thought of that, i sped up, a reflex action i could say. all i could do now was pump up the accelerator, as i gripped on tighter to the motorbike. zooming past the scarce traffic that this hour is easy though, as i rush to reach my destination..

alas! i'm reaching... i sped on, not concerned of the thunderstorm brewing above me. as i reached the final traffic junction, the lights started to turn amber. damn. i decided not to care as i attempted to break the traffic rules this once. almost there, i told myself as the lights switched to a bright red. it was too late to stop, as i sped across the cross junction. what the?! as out of the corner of my eye, bright headlights shone against me, so bright it could blind an animal. and before i could realise anything, i was thrown out of my bike, flung 20 metres away as right before my eyes, my bike was utterly flattened, and in front of it, a truck. numbness struck me as excruciating sharp pain shot through my head. i looked down towards my lower body, a total wreck. the white shirt, the one my mom bought for me as my birthday, stained with a colour i could faintly make out as red, as a brilliant red liquid pooled from my side. further down, i could feel nothing in my left leg. all i could feel was, pain. in the distance, i can vaguely see two figures, running in my direction. my vision beginning to blur, as my head begin to throb badly as i realised it was bleeding as well. the two figures seem to grow fainter yet nearer in distance. i forced to keep my eyes open, it was difficult.. and soon it was total darkness. mom, dad, i'm sorry..

i was dead.

AHHH ahahhaa its valentine's day theme! therefore... words shall b pink in colour! hahaha. (ms tan tis is for you!)

hah ignore the lovey-doveys, smooches, hugs and watever stuff u can do between couples, friendship day is the thing we're commerating!its been hmm about 2 full yrs we've came to know each other (some longer), and the story goes...

long long time ago in one of the southern province of china, Singapore, there resided a school, indebted to constant lousy grades and poor achievements, sprang a class of 25 people, and one inspiring teacher, who led them on a wow-ing journey each and everyone could never forget. it was the times that they spent together which were unforgettable, and it proves much, much more than wat bgr can bring, though many might not agree with me! they started out with unfamiliar faces, as hi-bye friends and each with the sole aim of ending their term just for the sake of academic accolades, neither did they know their journey was filled with much more than what they all could expect, as they fought with their bravest hearts and desire to overcome odds that were unimaginable, and they bonded well. disagreements were few, and friendship grew to family, beyond what many could expect. though now they might have gone their separate ways, as what fate has landed us upon, they still remain together as one. though its impossible for their eyes to meet each day like in the past, the memories still remain etched deeply in their hearts... it shall last like this forever, as each and everyone of them love this very family, and of course without the greatest, hottest teacher in their school, none of which would be possible..

i am proud, proud to be a part of this class, 05s01.

may we stay in touch and despite anything tat happens we'll still remember each others' presence everywhere we go. best wishes to those who are serving the govt, and those who are working. take care! :)

happy valentine's and friendship day! :)

yo its time to update on my ns life again....
Well my company has completed almost all the bmt syllabus, and we have our ippt and route march left. Field camp was quite a disaster for me coz it rained for @ least 3 days.... T.T... clothes, field pack, load bearing vest, items inside the field pack were all muddy... besides that, the 2nd field camp site was a mosquito breeding ground. The mosquito there are aedes mosquito... we were bitten all over the place by the commando mosquito... other than that, the fire movement drills were quite fun. Shellscrape digging was like digging ur own grave and we all took 1/2 a day to dig it... luckily i managed to finish digging it within the time limit or else i will have to go back to redig...

Live range was quite fun too coz the officers did not screw us this time as they feared that we might do something stupid like keblakang pusing and shoot them down.. Day firing was generally ok but nite firing u generally cant see anything so i just try my luck... Phew i was so close to failing due to nite firing...

After the field camp was the situational test, which is sit test in short. This is only applicable to those pes A or B pple... For those who aim to go to OCS to become officers or SISPEC to become sgts, u must show ur leadership quality during the missions that they gave u.. The missions were basically like team building games that u play during our uniform groups days or our JC orientation days... Leaders must always be the most garang person in the team and he must always noe wat to do.. All of us were split into 7 different roles which u will find out when u take the test... Quite fun actually.

Outfield was my horrible experience in my ns life. I got asthma attack everyday and the medic have to rush over to attend to me while my buddy got a shock of his life... Route march to the camp site was sh*t... Our officer punish us by telling us to take aim with our rifle, high port our rifle and putting our rifle on our head when we march.. The condition was so bad such that my asthma attack didnt even stop... Now i was well known for my asthmatic attack coz during the sit test, my asthma became worse again... In company line my asthmatic attack was not that bad, but in outfield, due to the kicking of sand and dust, it aggravate the situation.. The 12km route march and the 4 km fast march nearly killed me... Coz after the march, my asthma was so bad that i just collapsed in front of everybody... i wasnt even aware of wad happened next... During the 2nd day of the sit test, i fall out due to asthma attack again.. my OC was kind enuff to let me join in the test on the 3rd day or else i would have to go for resit test again... for the remaining days of the week, every1 was so scared that i got asthma attack again... All the officers and the sgts in my company kept a look out for me.. The person that i want to thank are my buddy and section mates for the support and encouragement during the outfield trip. If not i dun think i can even survive thru all the outfield trips... Thnx god that they strike my name off the commanders selection list after the sit test, if not i would have to suffer another 2 more yrs of hell again...

Well now every1 including the medic is telling me to downgrade to pes C9. Hopefully my asthma dun get worse coz its my ambition to get into military police, which doesnt have outfield activity @ all... Well time for dinner! Shall update the blog if i have the time!

haha. ns life for pes c

haha continuing on bryan's post on ns....

basically once u enter ns u will see alot of ppl wif ang gong (tattoo). but they r nice ppl despite the stereotyping. in ns, u will see all sorts of ppl. some r really *cough cough and some r really fucked up. oso u will see alot of chao keng ppl that keng lyk wtf(eg att b for 2 wks). dun noe y our pes c training already quite slack but they still want keng so long for wat... pes c training rox... we nv get pumped except whe we do 5bx... we r preety much slack and we sometimes end our day very early... we du nid to keep wearing full basttle order lyk pes a and pes b and we only march 10km instead of 24km...haha. tats a lot shorter...

bryan. tk dickson r in the same coy. however we r in diff platoons... bra and tk in p2 and dickson in p4 while im in p3. comparing our platoons, i tink mine is the slackest...haha...my platoon i tink oso has the highest number of ppl visiting the MO. haha. visting the MO is a fucked up process. u nid t fill in a form and w8 until they ask u to go up and w8 somemore...then u hav to w8 for ur medicine. takes 3hrs at least.. nice way to escape training but u will b in a room filled with bloody coughers...

army food is bloody cheap... they hav surveys on the food. the survey is based on yesterdays food so when they giv u gd stuff u noe its time for a survey...they recycle their food oso. their curry chicken is not curry chicken. they used leftover marinated uncooked char siew chicken to cook. they love to use the same type of veg and they lyk salted veg...their cook style is the same...sweet sour sauce, asam, curry, black sauce, pepper. is always the same... their milo is dilute and their green bean soup is abnormally sweet...their char kway teow and hokkien mee is tasteless and their fried beehoon is dark brown in colour. everyday u eat rice and more rice...eat until u want puke coz hey giv hell lo of rice and few servings of dishes... howvere their dessert is good. i love red n yelow watermelon, honeydew and tow huay...the orange is sour ad the pear and appler not meant to b touched... they wll oso giv ice cream once in a blue moon...

wow... tats a long essay i typed... going off to dota... lol

National Service
Do it for ur nation
Do it for ur Singapoooooore yah!!!
dun mind i just dupli-post here ah...

yay im so happy to b back in singapore!
not cuz i'll b able to escape army, but because im simply bored and abhor the drag n drear of tekong and miss singapore.

a somewhat (alotwhat) different but simple insight into another side of army life. cuz its PES C life for the physically (some mentally) disabled n impaired.
what u get if u're in pes c. i dunno if its the same for the other platoons but at least for taurus plt 2.
1. u're allowed to complain reasonably n most of the time u're given the benefit of the doubt. most commonly used phrase by them- "anyone not feeling well, u better sound off... dont garang act tough"
2. in one way or another, get about 5-6 hours of admin (free) time a day till u get sick of ur bunk n bed
3. all bark n hardly any bite, all buzz n hardly any sting
4. i told them the doc told me i had a mild spine problem (its the truth arh) but i felt a-okay. they excused me from carrying the field pack

but our pay stops at $300-400, we dont get to go SOC/OCS/n all the other interesting stuff. thats y most of the pes c r unmotivated to serve esp in tekong... although im sure we indicated otherwise in the survey. for me even worse i dont get to shoot live (real) rounds or throw grenade because im impaired in the ear. only get to play imt- some arcade-simulation of the live range. n of course, im not expecting much of an experience from field camp.

thats y army life for me is simply put, i confess, sort of a poorly-organised boring chalet. just hurry up, let me ORD n go to university.

Have you ever wondered
Why must we serve
Because we have no choice,
And we want to be freed, to be freed yah
